Summary of Unit 3 - What can we learn from success and failure?

     Everybody has different perspectives on success. For example, the meaning of success for students is different from the meaning of success for businessmen. Students will say they are successful if they can do well on exams, or graduates from senior high school. But for businessmen, success means being rich or maybe being able to do what they want.

     There are some of the different ways a person can be successful :

1. Ways of thinking
2. Easy goals
3. Seriousness
4. Action   
5. Hardwork
6. Focus
7. Struggle

      After doing that ways, you also need to remember that there's no human had never failed in their life. Many successful people begin by failing. For example, Thomas Edison had failed thousands of times before succeeding. The famous basketball player, Michael Jordan also had ever experienced failure. He started with the 'lacked skill". But now, he became a really skillfull basketball player. So, it is sometimes nescessary to fail in order to succeed. We can learn from our failures, therefore we won't make the same mistakes that make us failed before. We can be a better person by learning and reflecting our failures. Let's make our failures be a teacher, not undertaker.

     Let me tell you my experience about failures and success. When I enter senior high school, I have a strong intention to be number one, I mean like getting the first rank. At the beginning, everything went smoothly as what I planned. But, when the mid test passed school made me felt like crazy. It was getting harder and harder. And the climax was the final exam. We were forced to memorize and comperhend all of the materials given. For me, it was very hard and I didn't know why. Although I had read and memorized every single words, I was still missing something and the result was I failed in answering the questions. Of course I was disappointed and little bit frustrated. But, I got something from my failure. It's that I couldn't memorize anything in a short time, so I need to study long before the d-day.

    In the second semester, I started to apply my new study system. It was hard at first because the laziness virus always attacked me whenever I wanted to study or did my homework. But now, I get used to it. Finally I can stay in my first rank position for the midterm report. Maybe it's simple, but I'm really happy for that. I feel like I succeed in fulfilling my intention.

I mark that quote as my guidance because it teaches me that I can't be arrogant if I'm successful because if I'm arrogant I'll stop trying and the success will end too. And also the failure will not last forever. If we keep struggling, there will be ways for success.
